Who we are
We’re Bryan and Kristi Choate, and our barbecue journey started the way all great things do—around a fire, with good food, good company, and a whole lot of passion. What began as backyard cookouts for family and friends quickly turned into something bigger when everyone kept telling us, “Y’all need to share this with the world.”
So, we did. We started catering weddings, church events, and private gatherings, pouring our hearts into every plate of slow-smoked goodness. Before we knew it, we were running a food truck, serving up real-deal barbecue wherever the road took us. After five amazing years on wheels, we took the leap and opened a restaurant in Ball Ground, GA.
But life has a way of bringing you back to your roots, and for us, that means returning to the heart of what we love—taking our barbecue to you. Whether you find us rolling up to a festival, brewery, or private event, or you book us to cater your special occasion, we’re here to bring the bold, smoky flavors that made us fall in love with barbecue in the first place.
At Choate BBQ, sauce is always optional, but exceptional flavor is mandatory. We can’t wait to serve you soon—wherever the road leads next!
